The Boardwalk is Almost Finished...

I was out at Grand Beach last weekend and the boardwalk appears pretty near finished.  On a positive note, last weekend was the first weekend, weather wise, that could have actually been considered a beach day so all in all, we haven't been too inconvenienced with the closure of the beach and all the construction.  From what I can tell, they just need to finish the railing, install the stairs and with some clean up and landscaping we should be good to go... The lifeguard station has now been moved back into it's original position...

The lifeguard station is now back on it's permanent footings...

It's looking not too shabby...

so far, so good
preparing to pave the ramp
work on the railing is commencing

ramp is paved but what's with the chain link?

a closer look at the railing

FYI:  the construction site is quite secured. I'm assuming these beach walkers came from the camp grounds and entered at the East Beach and just kept walking to the West Beach.  I wouldn't advise it though, there are heavy fines if you are discovered.

Seeing the buoys lying along the sand is always a good sign that the beach will be open to the public shortly.

the buoys are ready to go into the water

So what do you think?  Personally, I'm not loving the chain link, how about you?  I believe the real reason for the railing to to dissuade people from doing aerobatics off the board walk but isn't there a better material than chain link?  I think the chain link has compromised the whole aesthetics of the board walk.  What are your thoughts on this?  Do you have a better idea or suggestion?  Don't be shy, please add your comments and opinions. We would all love to hear your input.

Stay tuned...

I'm here for YOU.

~Ciao
